Our Doctors in Collingwood

Dr. E. Jayne Cation was born and raised in rural Caledon. She completed her Honours BSc in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and then graduated with honours as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2012.

Dr. Cation is a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is also a Quality Assurance Assessor with the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

Dr. Cation moved to Collingwood upon graduation and has been practicing optometry at this office since. She is passionate about the profession of optometry and wants to provide optimal vision by ensuring the best health of her patients. Retinal pathology is of primary interest to Dr. Cation.

Outside the office, Dr. Cation loves physical activity of all kinds. She was Athlete of the Year at UWO in 2008, has represented Canada in rugby, ran a marathon, and biked across Canada. Dr. Cation and her husband are busy at home with 3 children.

Dr. Eric Raymond was born in Waterloo, Ontario. He has many fond lifelong memories of the Collingwood area from his time spent here at a family cottage.

He graduated in 1990 from the University of Waterloo with Honours BSc in Biology and Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. Raymond considers it a privilege to have looked after the vision and ocular health of the Collingwood community for the last 20 years.

Dr. Raymond is blessed with a wonderful wife, Mary. Both are active in their local church.

Dr. Raymond enjoys woodworking, vegetable gardening, sailing, and skiing, along with investigating the many wonderful local nature trails.

Dr. Wissam-Roy Toutounji is a Mississauga native who is thrilled to live in and serve the Collingwood community. He completed his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at McGill University before graduating with honours from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo in 2018.

Dr. Toutounji is committed to ongoing professional education, implementing the latest technology, and providing the most current and effective care to his patients. Having interned in several distinguished clinics, he has developed an interest in treating glaucoma and dry eye, in addition to fitting specialty contact lenses.

In his spare time, Dr. Toutounji enjoys staying active and spending time with family. An avid outdoorsman, he can often be found hiking, biking, camping, skiing, or travelling.

Dr. Sanjit Goraya attended York University where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to obtain a doctorate degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. Throughout these studies, he spent time learning both in the classroom and in the exam room about the latest research and technology regarding eye care.

Dr. Goraya trained at the Detroit VA Medical Clinic where he diagnosed and managed a variety of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and retinal vascular occlusions. Dr. Goraya practices full-scope optometry and is trained in binocular vision disorders and contact lenses. 

Outside of talking optometry with his patients, Dr. Goraya enjoys being active outside, vacationing with his family and friends, and a good game of euchre. Dr. Goraya is beyond excited to join the team and looks forward to serving the community of Collingwood and beyond.

Dr. Dilpreet Benipal was born in Toronto and raised in Brampton. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in 2016 and then completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2021.

Dr. Benipal completed her externship rotations throughout British Columbia and Ontario. During her externships, she enjoyed working with different demographics, meeting new people, as well as diagnosing and managing various ocular conditions. Dr. Benipal enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and strives to provide optimal care to all her patients.

During her spare time, Dr. Benipal enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends. Dr. Benipal is excited to join the Collingwood Optometry team and looks forward to serving the community of Collingwood.
