Meet Dr. E. Jayne Cation
Dr. E. Jayne Cation was born and raised in rural Caledon. She completed her Honours BSc in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and then graduated with honours as a Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2012.
Dr. Cation moved to Collingwood upon graduation and has been practicing optometry at this office since. She is passionate about the profession of optometry and wants to provide optimal vision by ensuring the best health of her patients. Retinal pathology is of primary interest to Dr. Cation.
Outside the office, Dr. Cation loves physical activity of all kinds. She was athlete of the year at UWO in 2008, has represented Canada in rugby, run a marathon and biked across Canada. Dr. Cation and her husband are busy on the home front with three small children.
Meet Dr. Eric Raymond
Dr. Eric Raymond was born in Waterloo, Ontario. He has many fond lifelong memories of the Collingwood area from his time spent at a family cottage.
He graduated in 1990 from the University of Waterloo with Honours BSc in Biology and Doctor of Optometry.
Dr. Raymond considers it a privilege to have been looking after the vision and ocular health of Collingwood community for the last 20 years.
Dr. Raymond is blessed with a wonderful wife Mary. Both are active in their local church.
Dr. Raymond enjoys woodworking, vegetable gardening, sailing and skiing along with investigating the many wonderful local nature trails.
Meet Dr. Sarah Hanmer
Dr. Sarah Hanmer was born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario. She attended Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Food Science Engineering. Dr. Hanmer continued on to the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated with her Doctor of Optometry, with clinical honours. Upon graduation, Dr. Hanmer began her career as an associate at a private practice near Portland, Maine.
Family and friends ultimately motivated Dr. Hanmer to move back to Ontario. Collingwood appealed to her because of its small town charm and her love of the outdoors. She joined our office summer 2018 and has enjoyed becoming apart of the practice and community ever since.
Dr. Hanmer’s clinical interests include: ocular disease; pediatric optometry, with the goal of expanding her practice into including vision therapy for binocular vision disorders; and contact lens fitting.
Outside the office, Dr. Hanmer enjoys hiking local area trails, doing yoga, and staying in touch with friends and family.
Meet Dr. Wissam Toutounji
Dr. Wissam-Roy Toutounji is a Mississauga native who is thrilled to be living in and serving the Collingwood community. He completed his bachelor degree in Neuroscience at McGill University before graduating with honours from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo in 2018.
Dr. Toutounji is committed to ongoing professional education, implementing the latest technology, and providing the most current and effective care to his patients. Having interned in several distinguished clinics, he has developed an interest in treating glaucoma and dry eye, in addition to fitting specialty contact lenses.
In his spare time, Dr. Toutounji enjoys staying active and spending time with family. An avid outdoorsman, he can often be found hiking, biking, camping, skiing or traveling.
